Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Simple but cool :)
I would loove a dress like that bag ;D
I like how she used those kind of socks, I bet not everyone would think that manly stripped socks style will look so cool with a dress n_n

@Maria: It is accepted now in Japan, but I think that in many places high socks are still frowned upon. But one thing that stays the same through human history is that all things change! So who knows, this might come to soon to a place near you. ^ _ –

@KD: In Japan there are many things accepted that in the rest of the world maybe no one has even come to think of xD but I meant exactly those kind of socks, ‘cause my dad has that style (shorter) and I was used to see the oshare’s socks, colorful, with stripes or dots n_n

Zettai Ryouiki! Love to see it; it seems to be gaining popularity in the USA too, if the sudden appearances of thigh-high/over-the-knee socks in fashion posters and stores is an indication. Love the color she chose for the socks, and that she went with something understated since the dress is so bright. And I love her bag.

I like this look as well, very “sweet”.

She’s absolutely beautiful. Love everything about this outfit. I’m living in Europe and OverKnee Socks and OverKnee Boots are high in fashion. I have a pair black overknees boots and exactly the same socks :) I didn’t know how to combine them. Now I have a good solution :)

Very interesting to read that over-the-knee socks are popular, or becoming popular, in other countries as well.

How wonderful the colors coral and grey make an ensemble.
