Design Festa

Nov 04 2013: Tokyo celebrates Asia’s largest art event, Design Festa

Kjeld Duits: @onegai kaeru: Good to hear from you again. Sorry that I missed you. I raced through the exposition and quickly picked exhibitors that instantly caught my eye. Naturally, I missed quite a few goodies, including your work! There were 10,000 artists, and I had only 6 hours divided over two days. I calculated that if I wanted to see each one, I would have had to see about 28 artists per minute… Thanks for saying hello. Hope we meet again, soon!
onegai kaeru: Hi Kjeld! No sure if you remember me (I am the green haired German girl with the frog meishi) and we met at the Pop n Cute Party in Shibuya once. Very nice photos from the design festa. I had been also exhibiting there – sad you didn’t come across my booth :) That would have been a surprise! Anyway just wanted to say hello :D
Kjeld Duits: @Kano Momose: I have added your information to the photo. You make beautiful products!

Japan's Biggest Halloween Party Part 3 of 3

Oct 27 2013: Rabbits, ghosts, zombies, Disney and anime characters, creatures beyond imagination. By the thousands they visit the Japanese city of Kawasaki every October. To celebrate Japan’s biggest Halloween Party…

Kjeld Duits: @Isabel: Yes, both are awesome, aren’t they!
Isabel: Same people caught my eye – the snow white with the gun and the steam punk group! (esp. the one with the black lace half mask)
Kjeld Duits: @Jenni: A very small group, but totally dedicated!

Japan's Biggest Halloween Party Part 1 of 3

Oct 27 2013: Rabbits, ghosts, zombies, Disney and anime characters, creatures beyond imagination. By the thousands they visit the Japanese city of Kawasaki every October. To celebrate Japan’s biggest Halloween Party…

Isabelle: The little kids wearing the SGT. Frog Costumes were cuuute. ;u;
Kjeld Duits: @Bushae: Yes, this was a lot of fun. It is awesome to see so many dressed up people all in the same place. Too bad that they didn’t close the streets to other traffic for the whole day like they do on Ginza on Sundays. That would really make the day special.
Bushae: O my gosh, I don’t know where to begin describing how amazing this all is! OuO All the costumes are so perfectly done and artistic, it must’ve been like a dream to go. I love the girls with the severed legs and all the frilly masked victorian costumes and the funny ones like the guy in the chicken suit :)

10 Things You May Not Know about Tokyo

Oct 14 2013: Tokyo is known all over the world and regularly appears in global news media. But do you know all of these surprising facts?

Kjeld Duits: @kaishiteru: Thanks. Will try to write more articles like this. ^_-
kaishiteru: Tokyo prefecture is definitely one of the most culturally abundant “prefectures/areas” in the world. This blog has given me an insight into the positive and negative sides of Tokyo throughout history, but all this new information makes it all the more exciting for my university exchange next year…! Props to Kjeld for being a factual guru. :)
Yucef: @Kjeld @Kimi : Ach tjies toch, en ek het my eerste Afrikaans geleer van die tekste van wynbottels met rooiwyn van die Weskaap :D mooibly!

Looking for Scary Faces

Sep 29 2013: Heavy Pop had a very early Halloween Party last night. JAPANESE STREETS went looking for some scary faces

Kjeld Duits: @Deadly Bite: I have seen some great Halloween make-up in the West, but these looks are spectacular in their own way, aren’t they!
Deadly Bite: Super spectacular shots! I’m not a big Halloween fan here in the West, but Halloween in Harajuku is just amazing :D I’m especially impressed by the ‘snake lady’. Wow!
vattenskada: Amazing !!!
