rooms 26 — February 2013

Feb 13 2013: One of Tokyo’s most important fashion exhibitions, rooms, is taking place at Yoyogi Stadium this week. JAPANESE STREETS went there today, and as always picked a few favorites

Kjeld Duits: @Whitney: Thank you! “Those dolls were so neat, too! Loooove…(drooling)” — Which ones? The codamatamago or MAMEDANQ dolls?
Whitney: I liked the traditional Japanese-feeling pieces a lot. And the hats, awesome! Those dolls were so neat, too! Loooove…(drooling)
Kjeld Duits: @Maria: I liked Shintaro Haruna and Harue Nagamoto’s creations best of the three. Love the wood in Nagamoto’s items!

The Ultimate Nail Saver

Sep 27 2012: You have spent hours on your nails and they look absolutely perfect. But before you leave on your date you decide to get yourself a refreshing can of juice. You open the can, and ruin one of your exquisite nails…

youkuku: I think I’d just ask someone else
Kjeld Duits: @Aspire: One of those things where you think, hey how come that didn’t exist yet?
Aspire: These are a great idea and look awesome too!

rooms 25 - September 2012

Sep 13 2012: One of Tokyo’s most important fashion exhibitions, rooms, was once again held at Yoyogi Stadium. JAPANESE STREETS had a look and picked a few favorites from the thousands of brand new products on display

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Yes, their designs are great. The (Japanese) designer spent a lot of time in the Netherlands, and I feel there is some Dutch influence. Actually, the name of the brand, proef, is Dutch, so we both have Dutch and Spanish.
Maria: Yesterday I checked out Proef webpage, so cool! I think my favorite is Olor Japan, it’s so cute and the name is in Spanish! ^^
Kjeld Duits: @Martin & Maria: Yes, the proef tights are absolutely awesome!

Harajuku's Epic Battle of the Unicorns

Sep 10 2012: Under the title Rainbow Dream Project, several members of the popular Harajuku Fashion Walk group got together last Saturday. They were easy to spot. Each one wore a 6%DOKIDOKI Unicorn and Rainbow T-shirt

Kjeld Duits: @Nora: Excuse me. puking rainbows . . . ?
nora: I am puking rainbows. They all look so happy and funny. And the shots with the proud little boy are just awesome. <3 It’s interessting how much of other cool styles are to discover in the background of the photos.
Kjeld Duits: @Steve (Living in Japan): It was a lot of fun shooting, Steve!

Fashion’s Night Out Tokyo 2012 - Part 1

Sep 09 2012: Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out took over Tokyo’s Aoyama, Omotesando and Harajuku districts on Sunday Sep 8. Instead of chasing celebrities, JAPANESE STREETS focused on the people on the street. Over 200 photos capture the cheerful mood.

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Thank YOU, Maria. I have been wanting to broaden the styles we show at JS, but doing all the shooting myself I am constrained by time and place. I see lots of styles, some shown at Drop, that I would love to share.
Maria: Thanks for sharing this KD. I think these styles are more like DropTokyo than JS n_n’
LabellaLuxe Boutique: Love all the pictures and awesome street fashions!
