None of the old information has gone, but it has all been re-organized and re-entered. It is much easier to find your way and you now also have a far more powerful search engine to help you get to the right information.

Some of our new features:

1. Bright clean look and new logo
2. Simplified navigation that is the same for all sections of the site
3. RSS feeds for photos and articles
4. The latest two news items posted on the front page
5. Improved searching with tags
6. Directories with information about Japanese fashion brands, fashion schools, fashion magazines and fashion designers
7. More detailed “about us” section
9. Greater weight on timely articles about Japanese fashion and street culture

We have spent over two years in redesigning and rebuilding the site. Some technical problems gave us loads of headaches, but we now have a site we are extremely proud of and we hope that you like it as much as we do.

Having said that, this is still the beta version of JS 2.0. Over the next year we will add lots and lots of additional information in our directory, and will also add more new functions to the site.

Kjeld Duits About the Author

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.
