Etsuna Otsuka got together a few of her friends today to model her latest collection at a park next to Tokyo’s Korakuen Station.

Although born in China, Otsuka’s designs feel very Japanese. Not too surprising as she graduated from Tokyo’s Tama Art University, has lived here for many years, and has a Japanese husband.

Otsuka’s designs are handmade, and delicate both to the touch and the eye. Her designs can be bought online at ETSUNA OTSUKA.

Kjeld Duits About the Author

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Clémence: Thank you. The model on the swing is Kokoru Kin. I have photographed her several times on the street, and knew she was a model. But it was still a surprise to discover her, and another person I shot on the streets before, at yesterday’s shoot. ^^

Beautiful! Kind of reminds me of the film “Picnic at Hanging Rock.”
