io yukomura"Ta A/W 2007 - Woeful

If the organizers of Japan Fashion Week want to promote Tokyo as a creative fashion force it may want to exert a little more quality control. A woeful io yukomura“Ta collection was nothing short of an amateurish attempt at design

An extremely poor retro collection of unimaginative 60s patterns had a bargain basement feel to it. Multi-coloured circular and floral prints with skull caps and heavily made up models looked messy and cheap.

The stylistic travesty of the accompanying white sneakers made the collection feel more high street than high fashion. Designer Yuko Murata should head back to the drawing board and seriously rethink what she is trying to do.

Duffle jackets, military trenches and limp knitwear featured in this catastrophe and poor styling didn’t help matters with a less than capacity audience looking nothing but disenchanted.
