Yuki Torii

Yuki ‘s engrained passion of Paris and all things Parisian was thick in the air as the models descended the catwalk in romantic, classically French cuts, which had the same sensibility as 80s Lacoix or Dior with boxy cropped jackets mixed with balloon skirts and wide collared swing coats, fur fringing and stoles and wide-leg pants.

Colour was taken straight from a Renoir painting; muted autumnal hues; slate greys, leave-green, peat brown, cranberry with flashes of sunflower yellow floral prints.

Overall the collection was disappointing – it lacked flow and consideration – some fabric combinations seemed odd and mismatched and the concentration of the range was centred around a very bland theme of black anonymous garments with no pizzazz .Yuki’s renowned expertise in cut was beautiful, but could have been taken to greater lengths.
