JS Gets a Little Better

Japanese Streets Logo

Small improvements on the site

Bookmark and Share

Over the past few weeks I have been making some small enhancements to JS. You probably noticed. But if you missed them, here are three major ones:

1. Instant Data View

When you hover your cursor over an image on the photoblog page you now get a small tooltip box with all the basic information for that person (name, photographer, date, number of comments, location, brands). Go and try. ^^

2. ‘More Photos’ Display

Check the bottom of the individual page of a person, above the comments. If we shot that person previously, you can now see a list of the main images of those shoots with links to those pages.

See examples here:

3. Follow the Conversation

The last three comments for an article or shoot are now shown on the top and blog pages. This way you can more easily see the conversations that are happening.

I hope you will find these changes helpful. ^^

Kjeld Duits About the Author

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

I am loving the “more photos” display. It’s great to be able to look back quickly and easily and see previous shoots. Some of them have really evolved!

Love those changes <3
I ‘d like to have that comments feature for my own blog, it’s amazing!
Can you tell me how to do it? :)

@Cheana: It depends on the CMS that you’re using. We use a very customized system, so the solution we came up with cannot be transferred to other systems. I wish you much success!
