YAB-YUM Autumn/Winter 2006 - Travels with Helga

American artist Andrew Wyeth painted a series of pictures of his neighbour Helga Testorf from 1971-1985 and it is here that YAB-YUM takes the inspiration for their Autumn/Winter 2006 collection.

In a truly eclectic line we were treated to a deviant union between Little Red Riding Hood and The Ring.

Things are never simple with YAB-YUM but that is why they are revered in Tokyo. An abundance of detail comes with everything and this line was a real assault on the senses.

Retro suede coats, cardigans, quilted coats in variations of brown and beige started the womenswear and just when we were feeling replete we got leather jackets and a novel play on duffle coats.

The menswear unveiled pinstriped jumpsuits with exquisite detail and green leather dungarees and paired with bags and baskets YAB-YUM once again played with the notion of travel.

Travel appears to underlie many YAB-YUM collections and they can be rest assured that wherever they take us we will gladly follow.
