JFW S/S 2011: Shida Tatsuya

A vision of 60’s Parisienne chic, but with a more playful, whimsical touch

Tatsuya’s S/S 11 collection was a vision of 60’s Parisienne chic, but with a more playful, whimsical touch.

Polka dots and colour blocks were the order of the day, with colours ranging from forest green, stucco white and scarlet red to coral pink and lemon yellow.

Heavy layering in simple cottons was prominently featured, along with full a-line drapes and long-line cardis reminiscent of vintage flags. Pretty little ribbon ties hung fluttering, and fabrics printed in French newsprint created a vibrant break between the solid colours.

Top that off with French schoolgirl (think Madeline) hats and you have a very sweet collection.
