Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Kjeld Why did you have to take another picture that makes me want to color my hair an unnatural color??? Hahahaha…I’m JUST kidding. This is AWESOME! What an interesting way to wear old navy too…There’s no Old Navy in Japan, is there? I agree, her hair is what does it, but she still has great style, too.

@kagitsune: They can probably do magic with your hair, too. Japanese hairstylists are incredibly well-trained. But you will need to visit the best salons in Tokyo’s Aoyama district (with Harajuku and Shibuya, one of Tokyo’s most popular fashion areas).

i like how sixties she looks with some little punk/current looks, like those earrings and that watch. it’s a really cool laid-back look, sorta SoCal hipster!
