I really like this girl’s style. It’s colourful and fun to look at, though I didn’t realize she was wearing a wig. Is it common for 18-year-old girls in Tokyo to go around wearing wigs?

@Theo: Yes, it is very common. Wigs are a generally accepted fashion accessory here. Have a look at the photos of wigs in our photo-archive.

is a wig? (quite disappointed) i wouldnt say!
and another dissapointment is about decora.. my gf loves the style.. you think that decora isnt in fashion? what does a decora girl do when isnt decora anymore?

Many people switch between styles; in such cases wigs are quite handy. Most of the street fashion we follow are worn by small groups of people, often called tribes in Japan, so it’s hard to say whether something is “in fashion,” because so many trends play out all at the same time. I run into far fewer people wearing decora than say 8 years ago, so I think it is now mostly worn by people who really love this style, not by people who are just hanging on.
