@Getz: Noel is using her own face as a canvas and creates a new work every day. Just like artists who create masterpieces on the beach that are washed away by the waves, or Buddhist priests that create (and destruct) beautiful mandalas from colored sand, Noel makes art that doesn’t last. By using her own body, her art becomes mobile, and by using her face, it becomes visible to everybody she meets. Pure genius, really.

She doesn’t limit this to her face, but extends it to the rest of her body. So whereas many people see clothing merely as a barrier between their skin and the environment, and make-up as a means of making themselves more socially acceptable or attractive, Noel sees both as an expressive art form.

You may not like the style of Noel’s art, but I hope you can appreciate the democratic concept behind it. She shares her art for free with everybody she meets. How many artists do you know that do so?
