Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

No. Just no. Trying to hard here. If it’s for a party, a live gig, a halloween party or other event then it’s alright, but not for everyday.

Ya know what, Gelz? Dont be a mean loser. This isnt a fashion criticizing blog, its a place where smart people go to enjoy beautiful fashion styles. So you have no place here, obviously. You have no right to talk about her beautiful outfit, something that you could never look good in. Go somewhere else. Stay off this website you immature troll. More than likely, you really wont be back because cowardly bullies like you post a douchey comment and then run away.

@Getz: Noel is using her own face as a canvas and creates a new work every day. Just like artists who create masterpieces on the beach that are washed away by the waves, or Buddhist priests that create (and destruct) beautiful mandalas from colored sand, Noel makes art that doesn’t last. By using her own body, her art becomes mobile, and by using her face, it becomes visible to everybody she meets. Pure genius, really.

She doesn’t limit this to her face, but extends it to the rest of her body. So whereas many people see clothing merely as a barrier between their skin and the environment, and make-up as a means of making themselves more socially acceptable or attractive, Noel sees both as an expressive art form.

You may not like the style of Noel’s art, but I hope you can appreciate the democratic concept behind it. She shares her art for free with everybody she meets. How many artists do you know that do so?

And whats ridiculous is that you say the SHES “trying too hard” when Horie has a friggin SQUID on her head!!! Where is your mind? Your comment makes no sense. You are trying to be a bully.

@Zjonni & Myz: Thank you very much for defending Noel and her beautiful creation. But when somebody in the sandbox starts to throw sand let’s not throw sand back. Let’s catch the sand and build a beautiful castle with it. ^_-

Noel’s makeup is beautiful. I appreciate how she paid attention to shadows and blending. I also love the garnet-coloured double breasted velvet coat. so luxurious! w

@R: Yes, the Putumayo coat is a beauty. Glad you like the makeup so much, Noel puts a lot of time and attention into it.
