JAPANESE STREETS POP UP STUDIO JUNE 2013

JAPANESE STREETS set up a Pop Up Studio in Harajuku at Design Festa Gallery during the last week of June.
We invited some 30 Harajuku street fashion icons to show us their 2013 summer looks.

More info at our blog.

Momo is the manager of the mould breaking tights shop AVANTGARDE,
located in the backstreets of Tokyo’s trendy Harajuku district.
JAPANESE STREETS asked Momo to show her 2013 summer look
and talk about her fashion roots, and her work with AVANTGARDE.

Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

The first thing that caught my eye with her outfit is the jewellery. It really made the ensemble! :)

I 100% absolutely love this woman and her personal style whenever I see pics of her. PLEASE let her know she has a blushing admirer and that her boyfriend’s very lucky!

@Kimi: Yes, Momo’s jewelry caught my eyes, too. Especially the earrings.

@Mathieu Sankeralli: I’m pretty sure that Momo reads the comments, Mathieu. And yesterday was her day off from work, so she probably already knows. ^^

@Miriam: I’ve seen Momo wear several colors and styles, and I also think this one looks best so far. It accentuates Momo’s sharp cheek lines.

She has bright personality and I admire that she tries different things to explore further with the design for tights and leggings. What she said about the owner of Avantgarde caught my attention – that nothing is impossible. I was wondering if it is possible for you to interview Kazuhiro Watanabe. I would love to know more about the way he’s thinking and the history behind his brand. Thank you for making possible to catch a glimpse on Japanese fashion and people even if we are so far away.:D

@Simona: Thank you for your kind words. I definitely want to interview Kazuhiro Watanabe!
