Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Comment (日本語もOK)

I usually don’t take it so seriously, but this time the first thing I had to do was to check Atelier Pierrot online.
Before I took the rest of the journey through the shoots.

I just adore such draped fabrics…
Light makes them look always like some beautiful, timeless sculptures – from the greatest sculptors of all time.
And most of all I really love the background chosen for this creation. It’s truly fascinating how contrastive they are: very modern environment, and a girl just like from Versailles… Brilliant combination!

Is anyone yet thinking about Marie Antoinette but me?
I thought so ;)

@Monik: Marie Antoinette and her period did indeed come to mind. ^_-
