Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Comment (日本語もOK)

I love japanese society as I love my life! Sometimes I wonder to myself why people here in Brazil doesn’t have a revolucionary, an inovator mind, and it’s too sad for a person like me. Fashion reflects a lot of a people, and I see japanese society as the society of the future.

@Rafaella Britto: I am glad that you like Japan that much. Interestingly, here we often hear that Japanese society stifles innovation, especially when it comes to business. The Harajuku kids love to experiment, though.
