Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Don: Yes, we started just with street fashion back in 2002, and added fashion shows in 2005 because the two interact. Therefore the slogan on the top of the page: Japanese street fashion, street culture and catwalk fashion. Jenny Fax is a good example of a brand that is within that exchange of street and studio.

@MissMolly: Yes, eating pasta in the bath tub. The poor girl was eating through three shows, the pasta must have been very cold by then…
