Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

The color palette reminds me of spring. I like that her tights mimic the legs of a doll or art mannequin.

@Amber: These tights (or stockings) are very popular among fans of Lolita Fashion. They are called Kyoutai Ningyou Stocking (球体人形ストッキング, Spherical Doll Stockings) or Kyotai Kansetsu Stocking (球体関節ストッキング, Spherical Knee Joint Stockings). They were originally designed by 24 year old Japanese designer Koh Ueno (上野航), and other companies have jumped in since.

Love her tights! Was initially surprised to see it in a lolita outfit but then it adds to the overall doll-like look. I ought to get myself a pair like those.

@Far: It has been especially the girls who are into Lolita Fashion who jumped onto these doll knee joint tights with the most enthusiasm. I hope you can get a pair!
