Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

So cute! I like that the clothes have such interesting details. The extra wide lapel looks really neat on the sleeveless vest. The rose eye patch is unique. ^^

@Maria & Amber: It’s the first time for me to shoot this kind of eyepatch, and I like it a lot. Imagine how much fun it would be if eye doctors offered creative patches like this in addition to the usual boring ones.

@KD: That would be great, especially for kids ^^

The entire outfit looks like it’s been pulled out of the Kuroshitsuji manga. There are so many similarities, but the eyepatch is the first clue haha

@MissMolly: Because of your comment, I asked Sabure if she was inspired by Kuroshitsuji and she just responded. She says that she was not particularly aware of any influence and that she did not intend to imitate the manga. But she adds that she does like the outfits of the Kuroshitsuji characters. ^^
