Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

This is a very Japanese person. Her haircut, tights, socks with platforms and her left hand ring. Great style indeed.

The muffler is real? it’s an animal? so much disgusting. i can’t understand people enjoy something like this. It is rude and merciless!.

I really love the outfit. But I have to say that what disgusts me the most is reading comments by people who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. I am from Estonia, and for us, it is very offensive to kill an animal and not use it to the fullest (including the skin). You should really think about that before jumping to conclusions. If you kill, use it.

When i saw her picture I went Woow.. ^^
She really does look very japanese indeed, simple and elegant.
@Liisa: I totally agree with you. I think it’s actually much more respectful to the dead animal to use it to the fullest like you said, instead of throwing it away.

That animal looking neck scarf thing better be fake … or else it is just bad taste!

in my oppinion it is not bad taste in haveing a animal around your neck. in fact it respecting the life of that animal. you use it to its full extent and not waste it. allow it a place with you even in death.

Hi! I live in northern Canada. Animals and people help each other to survive. Look at snowfly.storenvy to see awesome art prints and seal cuffs and headbands for sale that show life between man and animal. Also email me at cfennell@theedge.ca if you have any questions or want to purchase these. I want to sell these items online in Japan. The more I sell the more I will make new designs. Love and peace Cheryl
