Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

This is not Goth Lolita style. Even the Gothic substyle of Lolita is much more classic and delicate, like this http://unharretada.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/gothic2.jpg

Nice hair and make up. I think Shoko has really good legs ^^
I like her hat and I love that skirt, maybe it’s not something I would wear though…

@Maria: Yes, very true about the legs. She doesn’t have the big calves you see so often in Japan. Japanese call them Daikon Ashi (Japanese Radish Legs).

Even if she looks awesome, this isn’t gothic lolita at all. Maybe… some kind of obscure punk lolita… well, lolita skirts are way longer, and lolita don’t wear t-shirts. H.naoto and Putumayo do sell lolita clothes, but not ALL of their clothes are goth loli. :) However, I do understand that gothic lolita standards may be difficult to understand for non-lolita persons… >< But it’s pretty puzzling for real lolita girls to see punk/gothic girls being labelled “goth loli”. :/

Hi there, the style she’s using is something more like Japanese Punk and not gothic lolita. The designers of PUTUMAYO and H.Naoto also make punkish clothes too, check out carefully their websites and see by yourself. You’r welcome.

Her legs really are great. For some reason I really like the look of the stockings here, and how they contrast. It made my eyes feel strange looking at the top photo. But in a good way.
