Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Maria: You’d almost not recognize Shohei. ^_-

I’ts only the second time that he’s been shot, but I really love his style! The mix between a bit of shabbiness (I don’t mean that in a negative way, just talking about the cut-off shirt:) and sophistication really looks amazing!
@Kjeld: You think so? Somehow I recognized him at first glance…

@Nyurah: Yes, it took me a few seconds before I realized it was Shohei. In my case probably also because Shohei changed his hair and shaved his eyebrows. Those are important marking points for me.

I love his shirt

@Lala: I love how leggings are finally making a comeback in men’s fashion—albeit slow and careful—after an absence of several hundred years.
