Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

All of the angles and the way you used the signs in these are simply breathtaking. This is really, really great photography. I really love all of your shots and you do a great job capturing details, but these seem a bit more “Artsy” as well. Way to use the location!

Interesting pic. We can’t get a clue of her hair, until see the pics of her back. I like the light/shadow and the colors. Pretty nice!

Everything really fell in place here: great location, great person with an outstanding style who knew me enough by now to feel at ease, wonderful light and I felt inspired. The neon sign on the wall also helped a lot because of the strong memories I have of the Chelsea Hotel.

Love the tights! Love the way the tights pattern of bows, compliments the bow in her hair and on the dress. I TOTALLY WANT THOSE TIGHTS! LOL!

It looks like she was styled for this place on purpose that way.
And the pictures feel so….true… I don’t know how to express it differently.
I guess you’re right when you say that they feel so raw and real.
It really gives me goose bumps

She has a great style- I LOVE it!! Her choice of tights & footwear is a winner!
Good work on the fotos as well- wouldn’t be the same without closeups!
