Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Emma: True. It takes a lot of effort to make Japanese people relax in front of a camera. Sometimes it feels like there is a camera on/off button for that. The moment I point a camera, you see many people instantly stiffen up. Because they do, I actually take advantage of that and usually utilize it in my shot.

I like that she just look a littlebit like Mia Wasikowska in the ‘relaxed’ photos. I like the colour of her lipstick and I crave for those adorable ‘bling, bling rings’ and this cat ring , which is from the same brand like these adorable cat bags I guess(?).The thigts are to, cute too.

I think her cellphone would fit miwas bag quite well… :)

@Nyurah: Everybody at Tokyo Bopper is super cool. Did you see my images of Yama? She also works at Tokyo Bopper.
@Maria: I like the last shot, too. Very natural. Very difficult to shoot, even if people know you well.

Yes, saw her pictures and loved them. She looks so refreshing and simply puts you into a good mood when you look at her. :D

What a beautiful outfit! I really like pastel colours, and she put her clothes and accesoires so well together. Because of the material of her shirt and how she picked the colours up in every part and even the hair, it all seems so… flowing. It’s hard to describe, but everything matches so very well, the colours mix and the clothes look like a waterfall. It’s very calming and nice to look at. I know I’m repeating myself but I really like this, good job, Kjeld :-)) Man I surely praise and exaggerate too much, but I can’t help it if something really gets me hooked ^^
