Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Gray! I love it!
I liked the shapes, very femenine. The cuts and geometry reminded me of the way that Donatella Versace works. I mean, the designs have shapes themselves, and they also take the shape of the women’s body, which I think it’s not easy to do.

Beautiful collection! I fell in love with it immediately! I think it has a very powerful mood – stunning!

@Miko: I think so, too, Miko. It is all grey, black and beige so it derives its power completely from the way it’s cut. Designer Yu Amatsu worked as a pattern maker for brands like Jen Kao and Marc Jacobs and his superior skills as a pattern maker clearly come to the fore here.

hi Kjeld, this one reminds me of junya watanabe’s grey and black collection, just can’t remember the year.
