Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

I love his style! Really cool. Always a bit avant-garde I think. I see him on Tokyo Bopper’s blog a lot..I will say again and again I love the kids that wear Tokyo Bopper, their style is usually always sooo cool.

@Lactose Intoler-Art: Yes, the people on the Tokyo Bopper blog are super cool. Almost like the elite of Harajuku. Although it is the first time for me to shoot Pokke, he appears to be friends with many of the people that I have photographed in the past, all of them originals.

Sounds great! You know I love that you shoot not only great people, but also “originals.” :)

@Maria: Thanks Maria. Yes, it is like there’s graffiti on both the roller shutter and his coat, don’t you think?
