Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Emma: Yoshinori told me he is a huge fan of Vivienne Westwood.
@hannah: Isn’t he! I was really surprised when Yoshinori told me he was an engineer.

Agree with hannah! Now you have found the coolest engineer and the coolest vet in Tokyo :D
I love the hat, I had never heard of Jago but it looks like a cool brand.

I have noticed most of the time the people you shoot has more than one item of a brand, fashionistas are loyal to the brands they like, aren’t they? n_n

The thing I love about Japan is the passion that drives both through females and males with their fashion choices, something of which the United States does not acquire as much.

@Don Pezzano: We see a lot of plaid in Harajuku at the moment. Looks great on these pants, eh!
@Maria: Haha. Yes, the the coolest engineer and coolest vet in the whole of Japan, probably. ^_-
@DJ Kittie: I think your observation about Japanese passion for fashion is very much on the mark. Especially Harajuku fashion is FUN with three capital letters.

I love this outfit, and I love Vivienne Westwood, but the neon orange bag just ruins this for me. He should’ve saved Vivienne for a more flamboyant outfit- I would have gone with a dark brown school satchel or briefcase for this more mature look. But then again, that’s just me haha
