Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

I like men’s collection more than women’s, in fact women’s collection didn’t charmed at all… :/

@Maria: Yes, me too. I thought DRESSCAMPS lady’s fashion was a bit complaisant this season.

I do love and appreciate the pictures, but I am still surprised to see that leopard print it being utilized. I really liked that trend when it came around 10-11 A/W, but I thought that it would only last for that one season with bits of it trickling into S/S.

I’m never one to follow trends, but has leopard print become a staple?

@vejrubia: It seems to have become a staple for DRESSCAMP… The brand doesn’t have the originality and energy anymore that it had several years ago.

@KD: agree. with this I just see a targeting sales DRESSCAMP, not an original cool DRESSCAMP :/

@Maria. Yes, absolutely. I mean, they still make cool clothes, but look at these photos of DRESSCAMP just a few years ago. The difference is eye-opening. I guess that economic problems and changing designers has been too tough on the brand.

@KD: I didn’t know about changing designers now I kinda understand. And about the economic problems maybe they didn’t want to make risky designs :/ just something nice and wearable that would sell… I hope they go back to basics: clothes that make me say: ‘‘oh wow I reaally like that’‘ because right now I just can say: “Cool”. And that is not cool enough u_u

@Maria: I think your analysis is correct. We have seen other brands coming up with sellable clothes instead of creative designs. I also hope they can get the wow factor back into their designs soon!

It may be a funny question but can anyone please help me with the name of the male model in the top picture? I find him really attractive. Thank you!

And bye the way, I am no fashion expert but this collection looks better 99% of men collection i’ve seen so far.

@AnnaLynne: Glad you like this collection. Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of the model. Hopefully, someone else does.
