Woah! I love the plaid that I’m seeing with this guy and the last. Haha they match! Anyway, he looks so cool! I think I might want to try to find plaid leggings because of this guy! But over all, my favorite part of this outfit is the shoes. One, they’re super cool. The design on the shoes is INCREDIBLE. Did he buy them like that, or did he have someone do that? And two, I love how he’s wearing a brand of shoes that I see people wear here in America! Anyway, I like this guy :D

Can help asking first of all, his name? A county? Interesting.

@Maria: It is his nickname. Although JS has a strict policy for only using the real names of the people we photograph, occasionally an exception is made.

It’s not so common finding coordination at JS styles, usually styles are different colors that contrast but not exactly match.
This guy is all yellow and in a very cool way :D
I’m finding plaid very often lately, at the web and in stores n_n

Oh, I’ve seen this guy before. He always looks really cool. Between jobs? I know where he worked before, because I met him there..I’m guessing maybe that’s why he is now known as “Uruguay.” Nice. Either way this guy always has cool style and I hope whatever job he has next is just as great.

Haha. I’m guessing its right because I’m pretty sure he’s gone as a Japanese name before but I don’t remember what it was, and his style was a little different too. (I’m guessing to match the vision of the store.) Maybe Uruguay is his undercover between jobs name. haha. But I know its the same guy, I took a picture with him. haha

@Lactose Intoler-Art: “I’m guessing to match the vision of the store.“ — You hit upon an important aspect of working in the Japanese fashion industry. It is pretty much a given that you have to purchase and wear the clothes of the store where you work in Japan.

@Kjeld, yea I noticed that! Its interesting AND inspiring though, because stores like Kinji for example, at first may just seem like a huge American thrift store (with a little more vintage), but then you see the shop staff, and its like “WOAH, I never thought of wearing it that way.”

@Lactose Intoler-Art: True. That is the positive aspect—it is very inspiring to see what’s possible.

I am curious about why he calls himself URUGUAY?
My parents are from Uruguay!

@mayte: I haven’t met Uruguay yet (Emi shot these images), but I will ask him when I do. Actually, we usually insist on using the real name, so this has made me curious, too.
