Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Mel: That’s the kind of thing that I like about Bernhard Wilhelm designs.
@Julie: Cool, eh! They are like sneaker-boots.

This guy looks really interesting. His outfit is kinda simple, but at the same time, it’s cool. I love the rope across his chest and the fact that the pants are striped. I think those two things are part of what takes his outfit and makes it cool as opposed to something typical. The shoes too. They’re really cool. I think the funny thing about this outfit is the fact that any guy in America could wear shorts, a hoodie, and sneakers, but this guy adds his own elements that make the outfit really cool; the rope across his chest, the striped red pants, the super high-top shoes. I love it! I also really like his hair. And there’s something about his face that I really like. I think he’s very cute, and there’s something really approachable about his features that make him look like he’s friendly and funny. He seriously looks like a funny guy. And his neck looks very long. Is he tall? Sorry, I just had to ask.

@Etsune: I must admit that I don’t remember exactly how tall Hatayama-san was. I don’t want to crush the picture you have already created of him in your mind’s eye, but I think he was not that tall…

@Kjeld: Lol it’s fine, I’m not devastated or even disappointed at all. In this image, he appears tall because he has such a beautiful, graceful long neck.

I love this, and the thing I liked most was his hoodie. Then I noticed it was Bernhard Willhelm, so I wasn’t too suprised. Haha. And I agree, even though its shorts and a hoodie, its still so much more unique and complementary to his whole look compared to people that just wear shorts and a hoodie in the states.

I kind of have the same haircut as him right now too! Haha..Except the top is blonde instead of gray, and the back and sides are dark.
