Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@2046: Seiya is studying at Bunka. With his amazing fashion sense, I am really looking forward to him becoming a designer. Maybe in a few years, we’ll be covering his shows during the Japan Fashion Week. That would be really cool.

My favorite part is those textured shops with those shoes!

Oh, do I love his look or do I love it! The belt-tie, and the cool key rings are amazing. I love the twirly key-hanger the best.

¥20000 for his hair?? Oh, wow. That’s… a lot of money.

Nemeth? Sounds very similar to the Hungarian surname “Németh”. I wonder if the designer has Hungarian roots…? The pants and coat are really awesome!! I love how the material of the coat appears on the pants too. ^^ I really like everything about Seiya’s look! Okay, almost everything. His necklace/belt reminds me of shimenawa . It’s really interesting, but at the same time it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable for some reason.

And OMG!!!! I’m in LOVE with his shoes! Where do they sell them?? Is it available in woman’s sizes?? I really-really want one. ;_; I have been searching for something like that since a long time.

The VW astray looks like an old war canteen , don’t you think? Superb!

@gionbaby: The VW astray looks like an old war canteen , don’t you think? Superb! Perhaps that’s where VW got her inspiration? I am afraid that Seiya bought his shoes at a used clothing store…

He looks way older than 18! I’m loving the “British designer located in Tokyo” dude. Such a great look! So unique.

@Anya: AGREED! I think he’s so hot! And as bad as it may be, a lot of times when I comment on guys’ photos, the word “hot” almost ALWAYS ends up appearing in my comments…
