Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

I am a total fan of those necklaces, I got one from my mom and that’s the one I love the most to wear. She is really vintage, even her hair and make up are retro and vintage!

@Maria: This is becoming increasingly popular in Tokyo. I think that over the next few months you will get to see a lot more of it.

Is she Korean?

@Etsune: As far as I know, ChigHa is Japanese. I don’t know about her ancestors, of course (if you go back in time long enough, we are all African anyway). What makes you think she’s Korean?

@Kjeld: It’s the name. Unless it’s not her real name?

@Etsune: ChigHa actually has a Japanese name; ChigHa is the name she uses as a designer. It’s like a stage name, very common in Japan to do for designers, models, illustrators, and other people in the public eye.
