Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

She’s so cool. She looks like some of the old Cutie Magazine scans I have from awhile back..I haven’t seen anything like this in awhile, and I REALLY like this style! The hat is GREAT!

@Lactose Intoler-Art: I think Osaka differs from Tokyo in that people don’t always run after the latest trend, so you can see a very wide spectrum of street fashion on the streets of Osaka.

I find the last picture the most breath taking of them all! My GOSH! It’s so good and it REALLY just shows off how beautiful even a modern CITY can be!

@Etsune: Thanks. I am really surprised. I have never thought of Osaka as a beautiful city… But then, I grew up in Europe, so I am terribly biased.

@Kjeld Duits: I guess I can see your point. I mean, I’ve never been to either Europe or Japan, but being raised in America, I can understand the difference in beauty between a cluttered city and an area that’s…not a city? In America, we call the modern outskirts of a city the suburb. Sorry if you already knew that lol. But yeah…

@Etsune: LOL. Yes I knew that. I actually also lived in the US for two years.

@Kjeld Duits: O.o
So you’ve lived all over the place than, eh?

@Etsune: I guess so, but most of my life has been spent in Japan.
