rooms 25 - September 2012

Sep 14 2012: One of Tokyo’s most important fashion exhibitions, rooms, was once again held at Yoyogi Stadium. JAPANESE STREETS had a look and picked a few favorites from the thousands of brand new products on display

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Yes, their designs are great. The (Japanese) designer spent a lot of time in the Netherlands, and I feel there is some Dutch influence. Actually, the name of the brand, proef, is Dutch, so we both have Dutch and Spanish.
Maria: Yesterday I checked out Proef webpage, so cool! I think my favorite is Olor Japan, it’s so cute and the name is in Spanish! ^^
Kjeld Duits: @Martin & Maria: Yes, the proef tights are absolutely awesome!

Harajuku's Epic Battle of the Unicorns

Sep 11 2012: Under the title Rainbow Dream Project, several members of the popular Harajuku Fashion Walk group got together last Saturday. They were easy to spot. Each one wore a 6%DOKIDOKI Unicorn and Rainbow T-shirt

Kjeld Duits: @Nora: Excuse me. puking rainbows . . . ?
nora: I am puking rainbows. They all look so happy and funny. And the shots with the proud little boy are just awesome. <3 It’s interessting how much of other cool styles are to discover in the background of the photos.
Kjeld Duits: @Steve (Living in Japan): It was a lot of fun shooting, Steve!

Fashion’s Night Out Tokyo 2012 - Part 1

Sep 10 2012: Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out took over Tokyo’s Aoyama, Omotesando and Harajuku districts on Sunday Sep 8. Instead of chasing celebrities, JAPANESE STREETS focused on the people on the street. Over 200 photos capture the cheerful mood.

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Thank YOU, Maria. I have been wanting to broaden the styles we show at JS, but doing all the shooting myself I am constrained by time and place. I see lots of styles, some shown at Drop, that I would love to share.
Maria: Thanks for sharing this KD. I think these styles are more like DropTokyo than JS n_n’
LabellaLuxe Boutique: Love all the pictures and awesome street fashions!

Love a Lot!

Sep 07 2012: Love a Lot! The best advice I have heard in a while. Japanese designer Arika nico has made it her motto and the name of her new label

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: Yes, that one is very cute. Arika nico ‘s stuff is very cheap (for Japanese standards), so don’t hesitate to contact her if you’d like to purchase something. Only the buttons were a bit pricey.
Maria: I love that rainbow over-all! My best wishes to the brand ^^

Color on the Street: Pure White

Sep 04 2012: Few colors have as much symbolism as white. It stands for purity, cleanliness, and innocence. It is associated with peace, and royalty. After Queen Victoria wore a white wedding gown in 1840, white became the undisputed color for weddings. In Asia, white traditionally stands for death, funerals and mourning…

Lord Stardust: I really wish I could wear white… it always looks so stylish! But everytime I use white, I spill coffee all over it haha! XD

Color on the Street: Evergreens

Aug 21 2012: Green makes you feel fresh and bright in Japan’s midsummer heat

Kjeld Duits: @Maria: That is indeed Hirari, see her shoot here.
Maria: Nice! Bright neon-like green is everywhere hehe ^^ Hey! Is that a snap I had never seen? Is that Hirari with a tiger on the background?
Maria Z.: I like clothes with colours like this, are very funny.Maria Z.
