Going to the Max
As I wrote several weeks ago, maxi dresses were big this Summer. I created a special section with just a few of the maxi dresses I ran into the past few months.

Although this photo shows two women in white, I actually saw very few maxi dresses in this color. It gives a very clean and cheerful impression and is actually a perfect color for this garment. Dark colors can easily overpower with maxi dresses.
The most common maxi dresses I ran into featured fairly thin shoulder straps or covered the shoulder completely. Strapless maxi dresses appeared less common, but I still saw quite a few of them. There was not a single design or pattern that dominated, neither was there a single solution for the waist, although most women wore maxi dresses without a belt or anything else constraining or emphasising the waist.
Because this made the dresses extremely comfortable to wear, I expect them back next Summer, and we may even see them through Autumn into Winter. I will keep my eyes peeled.
Check them out at 2009 Maxi Dresses.
I can’t wear maxis this year anymore, its really gotten cold here. I hope its still in next year.
