Recently lots of people have been asking us where to buy the Japanese fashion magazines that we list in our directory. Here is a brief list of places where you can buy them online.

Japanese Fashion Magazines

1. Amazon Japan

Amazon Japan carries every single magazine in our Japanese Fashion Magazine directory. On the top right of each magazine entry in our directory, there is a link to the appropriate Amazon Japan page. The Amazon page is all in Japanese, but click on a single issue and you will find a To translate this page in English, Click here link.

Overseas shipping from Amazon Japan is reliable and quick, but incredibly expensive. We advice you to buy quite a few magazines at the same time, or share an order with friends or colleagues. Incidentally, other Amazon sites offer them, too. However, they don’t stock the magazines and have them shipped from Japan by sea, so orders take up to half a year to arrive! I have heard some horror stories… — Check the JS Directory.

2. JAPANESE STREETS Store

In our brand new JAPANESE STREETS store, we have a special category for back issues of Japanese fashion magazines sold on eBay USA. Shipping fees will be much lower, but you can’t always find the exact issue that you want. — Check the JS Store.

3. J-List

Our very loyal sponsor J-List, carries a good selection of Japanese fashion magazines. You can purchase subscriptions, and sometimes individual copies, of magazines like egg, Kimono Hime, FRUITS, KERA, Super Cawaii!, the Gothic Lolita Bible and more. — Check J-List.

Go and check them all out.

I was shopping in Shoreditch one Saturday at the beginning of June, and a guy took a few photos of my outfit and said that they were for Glitter Mag! He had a dog with him, and I was facing away from Brick Lane in the pictures. I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me how I could get hold of these, or if anyone who reads this mag could send me a photocopy of the picture!

I was wearing a long nude coloured American Apparel skirt, with a white t-shirt crop top (I think!), and a multicoloured satchel/backpack. I’ve got long ginger hair, and I’m a student. So if anyone’s seen that, then please let me know as it’d be really funny to see myself in a Japanese mag!

@Athlyn: Why not contact the publisher directly and ask in which issue your photo has been published? You can then purchase it online at Amazon Japan. Here is the publisher’s contact page. Many Japanese companies don’t respond very well to online enquiries, especially when done in English, so I suggest you keep on sending messages (maybe every three days) until you get a response. Good luck!

Sometimes if you are lucky and live near a big newsagent they have a section of foreign magazines. So do many airport newsagents. I suggest you check their before online as you might find some cool things you’ve never heard of and can add to your list of magazines to buy online,
