When we visited Ueno Zoo last year, eight members of KK 10MO8 SHUPPAN managed to make it. This time we had six.
The trip was rudely broken up by a violent thunderstorm that shut down one of the most important train connections between Tokyo and Yokohama. But until the weather interfered, we had enough of a chance to explore Yokohama Chinatown.
Yokohama Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns in the world. There are about 250 Chinese themed shops and restaurants in an area that was first populated by Chinese immigrants in 1859. Since the 1970s it has become a major sightseeing spot, and the streets are crowded with tourists.
