Last month I introduced Japanese artist and illustrator Machico when she and her friend gm held an exposition at Design Festa Gallery in Tokyo’s Harajuku.

Quite a few people fell in love with Machico’s original tights and asked me if they could buy them online. The answer was “no” at the time. So I met with Machico and we decided to create this special page on JAPANESE STREETS to allow you to purchase Machico’s super cute tights.

We spent half a day shooting the tights with one of her friends as the leg model at locations near the JAPANESE STREETS office.

Machico is offering two designs:

POP GIRLS

The Pop Girls design features girls with brightly colored hairstyles and hearts with messages like Too Hot, Lub Bug and Whiz Kid on a white background.

These are not mass produced items, but lovingly created items that are sold in extremely small quantities. It is utterly unlikely that you will ever run into anyone wearing the same pair of tights.

The Sleep Bear design features a girl holding a heart surrounded by bears, and pastel colored sweets and hearts on a pink background.
