Naomi Yamamoto, head designer, created an insipid offering of derivative menswear and womenswear. In what has generally been a dull Fashion Week, Tiny Dinosaur certainly didn’t offer any rays of hope.

Light trenchcoats, one-button woolen jackets in browns and gray, some elegant silver pleated skirts and a low neck jade cardigan stood out for the women with little else to enliven the show.

The men didn’t fair much better with a typical array of uninspired monotone sweaters and light cream hooded coats. However, crazy fluffy shoes, a few nice detailed pockets and tied ornamentation managed to raise a few smiles.

Tiny Dinosaur will have to come up with something much more original if it wants to capture the hearts and minds of Tokyo’s burgeoning fashion scene.
