About the PhotographerInspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

great shot! I’m loving the wind-blown scarf and skirt. The shoes are a bit wierd though.

actually, the shoes remind me of tabi shoes… with a boot heel. xD Very interesting. But wow, 70,000 yen?? I guess that pays for the novelty/difficult construction… o_o;

I like her entire outfit except for her boots…they just look mismatching.

This is nothing less than fantastic! It’s modern, chic, great colour scheme, and HOLY F*CK I love those shoes!! Great play on a traditional look. Now if only I could get them for less than 70,000 yen.. not your typical shoe to be knocked off at the local Target. _ Great job for the weekend, Kjeld!!

She looks great, I love her haircut, and of course the Martin Margiela Tabi Boots. And yes, its definitely the name brand that makes them so expensive. I think you can get some tabi boots on ebay that are much cheaper, but also look cheaper. Are tabi boots/ ankle boots/shoes expensive in Japan? About how much do they cost? I might buy some this summer.

@Kjeld, yea, I’m wanting some that COULD be cool when mixed the right way with certain styles, but not having to pay the Margiela price. I’ve seen some on ebay but they are around 60.00…I think I could find some cooler for cheaper in Japan. Thanks for the links, I’ll check that out for sure.
