This fashion show was staged in the Mitsukoshi Theater in Nihonbashi, a very appropriate place for a brand named Theatre Products! The models first paraded on stage, then proceeded to walk into the theater itself. The photographers were located on stage as well, making us part of the tableau. I would have loved to see what that looked like…

Incidentally, this is one of two shows that I didn’t manage to upload in March. Kind of a bonus to see it in May!

Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

This is very summery and very romantic, and I’m loving the headpieces.

@Tofu: You mean the blue dress? It is gorgeous, isn’t it. Very different from the other creations—feels like an afterthought, or a flight of fancy by the designers.

@Annabelle: Totally agree; those headpieces are really special. It always surprises me that even though headwear is so important for Japanese people (just see our street fashion shots), you don’t see too many cool headpieces in the fashion shows.

WOW! What a GREAT collection! I love it. Where is the store in Tokyo? Is it in LaForet? I would love to see how the shop staff wears it. And I agree, the headpeices are GREAT! I hope giant chunky pearls make a huge comeback.
