Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

This is so very beautiful. It’s got that touch of summer from its floral accents and use of fabric flowers, those warm late-springlike colors to go with the darker, almost plumish tones. I think he’s got a fantastic sense of palette, and I really love the creativity he has with the oyoroi, and how those pieces of armor just blend in with the choice of fabrics. Well-taken photograph! Thank you for sharing. Wouldn’t have seen anything like it if you hadn’t taken a picture and shared it. :)
