Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

This outfit, although rather simple, is very interesting to me…not entirely sure if it’s the blue mascara, the hint of androgyny or the interesting silhouette of the shorts.

@Danielle: I think it is the whole that makes this look so intriguing. From the hairstyle and make-up to the clothes and silhouette. Almost everything fits perfectly together.

I think you’re right about that one. The fact that everything seems to somehow harmonize makes it unexpectedly interesting.

@Danielle: That’s what I like about Japanese fashion, the incredible attention to detail and how the details fit into the whole.
