About the PhotographerInspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

She looks like a cute character from a children storybook <3
So envious! She is my age but she looks 4 years younger TT__TT

That skirt is cute. I know an easy way to make such a skirt. Just use an old mens shirt, cut it right under the sleeves so that you get a tube. And than just shirr some rows around the skirt. Tada, you have a skirt like cute Mami. I have to laugh about her funny rosette. I like the unity of colors in her outfit.

@ Kjeld: Paired with a t- shirt we could pretend to wear such dress. :)

Nice and legere look. The red is really eyecatching and blue parts of her skirt and the strands of her hair complement the outfit very well. Especially loving her accesoires like the giant, simple watch, the self made necklace and the bells on the pocket of her sweater. Somehow, I’m reminded of shintoistic shrines. Red toori, ropes and bells.

oh my, I really didn’t notice it was a dress! Now I checked the other comments, should have done that beforehand. So this is a dress made of used clothes, awesome! I really like that. One summer, my father cut off the legs of his Jeans because it was so hot and I used the remains to sew myself a west. Incredibly, it even was wearable even though I had (and still have) no idea about sewing and sewing cloth. I wouldn’t know if there are any shops like that in germany. If they exist, they are surely run by some artist or young designer in one of the big cities. But I think this would be a good idea for a big fashion chain.

@ Kjeld: Really? Darn, another thing I’m jealous of! Well, I can still shop used clothes at the flea market :-)

I love the colour combination she used! And it also suits her so well, though there aren’t many that can pull it off as well as mami-san.
Well done!

@Kjeld: Yes, you’re right. But if it’s done like Mami-san did, the results are great! :)
