About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

@Maria: That jump shot was a lot of fun. Risu’s look is so serious, I thought it would be fun to shoot her jumping. As you can see, she enjoyed it, too!

You should ask what kind of music each person’s got in the earphones.. it would give the whole impression :)

@Annika: Not a question that I would have come up myself, Annika. I like it a lot. Thank you for the suggestion! Not everybody is listening to music when I meet them, so I have to figure out a way where this would work for everybody I shoot.
