Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

He looks really awesome. The outfit is quite unusual (especially his trousers), but I think it suits him.The clothes pegs are so cute, they look home made; also the leopard print rucksack is pretty cool. I wish I could find one like that.

Animal print <3
All his outfit is super cool! :D and also quite expensive n_n’‘
I like the brands, I wanted to see some Tokyo Bopper shoes different from the usual high ones, most oftenly seen on women.

He’s great! Love the hat, and of course you probably know I like the Nozomi Ishiguro pants and Tokyo Bopper shoes.

@Maria-Tokyo Bopper has made shoes that are not platform, but especially within the past year or so, almost everything has been platform. Kind of back to that early Harajuku feel, I think. And its really on trend in Tokyo!

@Emma: The clothes pegs by writtenafterwards are quite popular at the moment. writtenafterwards is a very avant-garde brand established by Japanese Fashion designer Yoshikazu Yamagata (photos shot at rooms earlier this year). We recently covered an exhibition of the fashion school he set up at Taito Designers Village: coconogacco (see photos at the bottom of the article).

@Maria: As Lactose Intoler-Art mentions, pretty much all the Tokyo Bopper shoes are platforms at the moment. And they are very much on trend in Harajaku.

@Lactose Intoler-Art: Nozomi Ishiguro and Tokyo Bopper are among my favorite brands!

I lOVE those Nozomi Ishiguro pants. I would wear them every day and even sleep in them if I could, hah…sigh…why can’t American fashion be this cool…I also love his sweater…and everything else.

@Whitney: You inspired me to shoot someone sleeping in these pants. Actually, I did shoot someone kind of sleeping just recently!

Reminds me of "this video clip":http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MaF-bWeLGw. I like the mix of leopard printed backpack with matching pair of shoes.
