Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

wow I’ve never seen a sweater like that before, is it attached to the shirt ?

@Emma: Great question! Neither Anzu nor I remembers if it was attached or not… Actually, it was already pretty dark when I shot Ikumi, so with our eyes it was a little difficult to see the dark colors well. The Nikon d3s that I use is particularly good at shooting in the dark (and making it look a lot lighter than it is).

@KD- Oh right, I wouldn’t of realised it was dark. I think it is detachable because on the 6th photo you can see where it isn’t attached, it’s still a cool sweater though :)

Her make-up! I love it! <33
Oh my! I want that sweater, but it is so expensive! I never pay more than $20 for a sweater (TT__TT)

@Emma: I think you’re probably right.
@Maria: $20 for a sweater is probably not possible in Japan; at least it won’t look very fashionable… Especially now that the yen has become so strong against other currencies since 2008.

I visited CA4LA online store, I love the hair accesories! So original. Some are mori-girl styled! <3
