Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Even if the stole is made of fake fur, is however dreadful.

@Althea, I kind of felt the same way at first when I started seeing them pop up…But I really like them now..But its still a bit corpse-ish. I’ve seen it done where it looks nice. No offense to anybody though, I grew up with a father who is a taxidermist so what I’m used to seeing is a bit different.

I love the shawl and the skirt, and I really don’t like the stole either. I also don’t like the huge logo on the purse, I don’t like them as a rule, but in this case I think it takes away from the fairytale-ish aspect of the look.

Yeah, I’m not so much a fan of throwing a dead fox around your neck either. I’m all about faux fur, though. Once I get past that poor fox’s little dead face, her outfit is pretty cute.

Contrary to what most people are saying, I actually REALLY like that fur stole. I think its so cute! It looks like a little sleeping fox!
In fact, if i saw one in the store right now, I would buy it and rock it, cuz i CAN. Anyway, I love her scarf (I’m always a big fan of scarves, whether they be modern checker print or like the traditional scarves sold in Pakistani and the like), and I REALLY like the full length skirt…Like I said earlier, I’m looking into getting one :D And I’m diggin the chocolate case, especially since its homemade!

@Etsune: There are quite a few places where you can buy these Homade iPhone covers online. Homade makes many other fun products, too. I really loved the Lego MP3 player they made a few years ago.

….Oh, see, I’m dumb; I thought they were literally home made… T^T
I thought there was…an extra E there…
I figure this is kinda like my keisuke panda accident…

@Etsune: I already suspected a home made panda event. I thought I’d break it gently to you. If you had said nothing it would have looked like you just made fun of the name. ^_-

@Kjeld: Pfft, you know me too well! But how would you have broken it gently to me? And i suppose you’re right…Had i said nothing, it would have looked like I was teasing it or I had made a typo * facepalm * Oh well…I’m such a ditz hahaha.

@Etsune: I thought I actually did break it gently by writing Homade makes many other fun products, too. without mentioning outright that your comment might have been a mistake. ^^

OHHHHHHH. Um. Well.
That just goes to show how dense I can be :D
Because I did NOT catch that!
ARRRRRGGGHHHH

@Etsune: I guess I broke it too gently, then. ^_-

Mar 5, 2011 (4773 days ago)

@Kjeld: Perhaps. But at least I was able to find the mistake after looking at the phone cover, and thinking it through…and seeing that “homade” did not, infact, have an “E” between the ‘M’ and the ‘A’
I am a ditz, though. And I’m also very gullible – _ – “

This type of faux fur scarf seems to be very popular! And her phone is making me hungry xD

@Anya: Haha, yes those Homade phone covers are delicious! You are right about the faux fur; I am seeing a lot of it.

@Kjeld: Thanks, i guess. I suppose that can be very true in most cases. So shall I take pride in my gullibility?

I am truly, vehemently disgusted by that fur.

Kiki
Mar 8, 2011 (4770 days ago)

@Etsune: Haha. Definitely, don’t see it as a negative. Just make sure it doesn’t cause you harm. ^^

@Kiki: You realize it is fake, right? I guess the morals are still very blurry on this one. There are lots of people who wear fake fur to show how real it looks these days and thereby persuade fur lovers that real fur can be replaced by fake fur. For example, The Humane Society encourages fake fur.

Other articles discussing the morals of fake fur: What I bought this week: fur (The Observer), Beyond Viande: The Ethics of Faux Flesh, Fake Fur and Thriftshop Leather (Between the Species).

@Kjeld: yes, i really DO have to watch out for that, I guess. but i’m not like an idiotic kind of gullible, as in i won’t fall for internet scams or anything. Its just that sometimes my brothers will tell me slightly ridiculous things and sometimes i will believe them…
and thank you for those faux fur articles!
