I love her grandmother’s hair accessory! A kanzashi, right?

This is one thing that I could never appreciate more from the Japanese. She’s completely covered, yet still stands out in a crowd. I feel that most ‘fashionistas’ in the States feel a need to wear short shorts or super low-cut tops. Almost all the tops I buy need a bandeau or another tank to go under them, but this look… is comfy and unique! Great find :)

@petitesam: Most Japanese women have never felt comfortable with sexy as it is conceived in the West, although there is an increasing group of Japanese women that is adapting the concept. Traditionally, showing part of the neck was actually seen as sexy here. I think this forces Japanese women to be more creative in their fashion. I also like it a lot. I totally agree with you; Marie did a great job in finding Kummy.

@Mel: Yes, Kanzashi:) I’m glad you know the name. It means a lot because some Japanese have been very ignorant about our own traditional clothes!

@petitesam: I can’t agree with you more, petitesam. I was talking with one of my friends that most Western fashion is more about body shapes unlike Japan. Of course it doesn’t apply to everybody and it’s been changing, but the differense in each region’s traditional clothing such as corsets and obi kindly explain the different ideas about fashion.

I like this dress a lot. I especially like the top, the colors, pattern, style. How does one get one of these? Is there an online store. Please e-mail me as I’d like to see the online store. Thanks.

@Jennifer: I did a search for Sllow, but couldn’t find anything helpful… By the way, I made your e-mail address invisible; better not to post your e-mail address on the net “nakedly“—it will be harvested by spammers.
