Kjeld Duits About the Photographer

Inspired by the stunningly creative street fashion that exploded on the streets of Tokyo and Osaka in the late 1990’s, photo-journalist Kjeld Duits launched JAPANESE STREETS in 2002. This makes JS one of the first fashion blogs on the net, and the very first to cover Japanese street fashion.

Whoa his tie costs more than his shirt!

@Akira: True. The difference is so large, it almost made me wonder if I made a mistake. I am sure I didn’t; “1,600” and “16,000” sound completely different in Japanese.

interesting how all of his pieces are so simple, yet so expensive. i love his color palette; i would personally never think of using two shades of grey, light (kind of yellow-ish) brown, and orange to make up an outfit, and i admire that it’s something i don’t think i’ve really seen before.
that being said, whatever that red thing sticking out from under his shirt is (the end of a belt? a strap of some kind?) looks pretty out of place, haha.

@MURA: The thing sticking out from under Dychi’s shirt is a brown leather belt if I remember correctly. I kind of ignored it in my photographs… I also thought the combination of the two tints of grey was very courageous. I think that he pulled it off. As he is studying to be an architect I’d love to see the kind of buildings he’ll come up with.

Wow. I really love his style, very casual, it looks as if he was born in it!

I love this! I love his button up and how it has an asymmetrical center front!
and the colors are balanced out nicely! I like how they pop against the greys

Indeed! I quite LOVE the color palette and find it interesting that he manages to be handsome, well dressed, and super intelligent (because of the whole studying to be an architect thing?). Most of the time, here in America, it’s either well dressed or super brilliant when it comes to guys.
